The ChE GSA will hold elections for our executive board on Tuesday, May 3, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in 101 Fenske. Every graduate student should attend the elections and vote, since the executive board serves as the voice of all ChE grad students in the department.
Please use this Google form to nominate individuals for executive board positions. Nominees must be current ChE graduate students. Ideally, nominees would be able to serve a full term from May 2016 to April 2017. Nominations will be accepted up to the start of the meeting.
What are the responsibilities of a ChE GSA executive board member?
To answer this question, I have attached a document with job description for each position on the executive board. The executive board as a whole serves as the voice of all ChE grad students in the department. Executive board meetings are held about once per month for an hour.
What are the benefits of being a ChE GSA executive board member?
For one, leadership positions always look great on resumes. Additionally, executive board members are the first points of contact for meeting with invited guests to the department, where you will be able make important professional contacts, often over nice dinners. You are also more likely to be the first to know about major department decisions (new building progress, hiring faculty members, and so on).
Please consider nominating yourself or someone else for a ChE GSA executive board position.
