Shankar is a fourth-year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Janna Maranas to improve the conductivity of polymer electrolytes for use in next-generation lithium-ion batteries. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in India and a Master of Science and Engineering degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is from Chennai, India. He likes to play sports like badminton and soccer in his spare time.
Nicholas is a second-year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Bruce Logan and Dr. Matthew Rau on a thermally regenerative battery to convert low-temperature waste heat into electric power for the grid. He is from Portland, Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in International Studies. Nicholas enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, rock climbing, and snowboarding.
Chris is a 2nd year Ph.D. student working with Dr. Andrew Zydney to explore low cost, single-use hollow fiber modules for more efficient processing of high value biopharmaceuticals.
